Porocell (Instead of Shuttering Blocks) Pool Construction and Insulated Technology
Building an outdoor or indoor swimming pool is a long-term, serious engineering investment where professionalism and the quality of the structural materials used determine its future lifespan. Our company's primary profile is the turnkey execution of premium private pools, but we also possess extensive design and construction experience in public projects (hotel wellness sections, lidos, public baths).
Pool technology is constantly evolving, and we place great emphasis on innovation. While previously heavy, rigid, and uninsulated shuttering block-liner systems dominated the market, nowadays insulated Porocell block pool construction has become the absolute standard for modern, energy-efficient homes. This technology not only radically speeds up construction time but also allows for freer, more unique shape designs, while drastically reducing pool heating costs with its built-in thermal insulation.
The Irresistible Advantages of Porocell Pool Construction:
- Outstanding thermal insulation (Passive house technology): Porocell (high-density polystyrene) building elements form a double-sided thermal insulation layer around the rigid concrete core. This prevents the pool water from transferring heat to the cold ground, keeping the water temperature permanently 4–6°C warmer compared to traditional concrete pools, thus minimizing the energy consumption of the heat pump.
- Fast, clean, and millimeter-precise structural status: The blocks are lightweight, fit together like Lego blocks in a bonded pattern, and can be assembled dry. This avoids the heavy physical handling, carving, and immense waste associated with shuttering blocks. After placing the internal reinforcement of the elements, concrete pouring can be done in a single phase using a pump.
- Boundless design freedom: Dream big! With Porocell technology, almost any custom pool shape can be realized (including unique internal steps, sitting benches, shallow relaxation zones). It is equally suitable for the precise structural formation of classic skimmer pools and exclusive luxury overflow pools.
- Long lifespan and simple renewal: The internal watertightness and final appearance of the pool shell are ensured by a minimum 1.5 mm thick, premium reinforced, UV-stabilized, and chlorine-resistant pool membrane. If it wears out or you want a new color in 15-20 years, the liner system can be replaced at a minimal cost without demolition.

What to Consider Before Building a Pool?
A pool is an investment for a lifetime and a major value-adding factor in the real estate market. Therefore, it is essential to be aware of the legal, technical, and positioning criteria before the very first stroke of the pen. In our video below, we show in detail how you can prevent later annoyances, unnecessary costs resulting from poor orientation, and unprofessional mechanical pitfalls:

The Technological Phases of Turnkey Pool Construction:
- Engineering design and permitting: Millimeter-precise definition of the pool size, shape, and mechanical positions. Important regulation: According to current legal requirements, building private pools not exceeding a volume of 60 m³ does not require a building permit; above this limit, a building permit procedure is necessary, the administration of which is fully handled by our company.
- Mechanical earthwork and leveling: Following the precise marking of the pool shell's location comes the excavation. Hairpound-accurate setting of levels using a laser instrument is critical, as this determines the uniformity of the future water surface.
- Floor concrete pouring (The foundation of the pool): Preparation of a structurally dimensioned, double-mesh reinforced concrete floor slab (blinding concrete) placed on a compacted gravel bed, into which we professionally integrate floor drains and bottom pipelines at this stage.
- Porocell walling and concrete pouring: Assembly of the Porocell blocks into the requested shape, placement of structural reinforcements, and the millimeter-precise cutting of mechanical embedded parts (skimmers, inlets, wall conduits, LED light niches). This is followed by filling the internal cavities of the blocks with fluid concrete.
- Surface refining and plastering: After the concrete sets, the walls and the floor undergo fine sanding and specialized pool technology smoothing. This step guarantees that when the pool membrane tightens, no minor irregularities or concrete imperfections show through the surface.
- Complex water mechanics installation: Pressure testing of pipe systems, complete outfitting of the plant room (be it an above-ground garden wooden shed or an underground cast plastic pit) with filter-recirculation equipment.
- Internal lining (Pool membrane installation): After disinfecting the entire surface and lining it with a 300-micron geotextile, we install the reinforced premium pool membrane in the chosen color and pattern using on-site hot-air welding.
- Landscaping and coping installation: Backfilling and compacting the earth around the pool, precise placement of specialized, wave-breaking pool coping stones, and, upon request, paving the sun terrace.
Comfort-Enhancing Systems and Wellness Experience Modules
A properly sized sand filter water recirculation system is a basic requirement for crystal-clear, algae-free water. However, to turn your pool into a true private wellness center, the mechanical system can be equipped with the following modern convenience functions:
| Experience and Convenience Module | What Does It Provide for Your Comfort? |
|---|---|
| Automatic chemical dosing and salt chlorination | Continuously measures and digitally regulates the water's pH and chlorine levels, or minimizes the use of traditional chemicals using a salt chlorinator (salt electrolysis) and an UV-C sterilizer. No more irritated eyes or dry skin. |
| Inverter pool heat pump | Extracts heat from the ambient air with outstanding efficiency. It is capable of keeping the pool water at a constant 28–30°C even with an outdoor temperature of 15°C, with minimal electricity consumption. |
| Built-in counter-current system | Creates a powerful, adjustable water jet, thereby providing a continuous, real swimming experience without turns even in smaller pools (even 5-6 meters long). |
| Hydromassage and bubbling bench | Nozzles integrated into the pool wall or sitting bench provide a professional back and leg massage using a mixture of compressed air and water. |
| RGB LED color therapy lighting | Energy-saving underwater spotlights with changeable colors controllable via remote control or smartphone for a stunning evening ambiance. |
Why Choose a Professional Engineering Team for the Execution?
